Thanks for starting a place to vent! One of my areas of interest is about the impact of education on our present and future. The Bill Ayers/community organizers of the nation have been influencing the current focus on service (to the state), equality (as opposed to opportunity), and the hatred of anything that smacks of respect for our Western Civ heritage.

Read "I, Pencil." Of course, the current economic problem is complex. The solution, however, is simple and doesn't cost the taxpayer:

*reduce personal, corporate, and capital gains taxes (preferably more than a "holiday")
*get rid of mark-to-market (and Sarbanes-Oxley, for that matter)
*bring back the up-tick rule in the stock market
*pour on the optimism and joys of our great nation

The market's invisible hand will resolve all our economic issues relatively quickly and with the least pain to the fewest numbers of people.
