Read "I, Pencil." (See Articles tab.)Of course, the problem is complex. The solution, however, is simple and doesn't cost the taxpayer:

*reduce personal and corporate taxes (preferably more than a "holiday")
*get rid of mark-to-market (and Sarbanes-Oxley, for that matter)
*bring back the up-tick rule in the stock market
*pour on the optimism and joys of our great nation

The market's invisible hand will resolve all our economic issues relatively quickly and with the least pain to the fewest numbers of people. Experts need not apply. Keep it simple, sailor.
